Meet Me - Samiksh Sabikhi

Hi, I'm Samiksh—a student at St Olave’s Grammar School with a passion for civic engagement, systems software, and hands-on engineering.

I have a strong interest in politics and current affairs, which is reflected in much of my extra-curricular involvement. I serve as the Student President of our school's Junior Politics Society, lead the editorial pipeline for our student-led Politics Journal, and co-organise major events like the annual St Olave's Political Awareness Week and the Bromley Schools Climate Conference.

Alongside civic work, I’m deeply involved in technical projects and practical engineering. I act as the Team Manager for my STEM Racing team, Phoenix, where I currently handle enterprise, outreach and team strategy - although I used to act is Chief Engineer. Outside of school projects, I enjoy technical things - e.g. building self-hosted server infrastructure, designing custom 3D-printed solutions, and working on custom hardware builds.

Junior Politics Society

As Student President, I help coordinate our weekly student discussions and debates. I also manage the editorial process for our student-led Politics Journal, reviewing essays and curating articles.

Political Awareness Week

A main co-organiser for St Olave’s annual school event, coordinating guest speakers, debates, and activities to encourage political engagement across year groups.

Engineering and Technical

I spend a lot of my free time working on practical engineering challenges, combining CAD modelling, system administration, and custom hardware. See more on Engineering and Technical. A rough overview is given below.
